European Congress on Cardiovascular Surgery has been held

This month Belgrade became, for a couple of days, the European capital of cardiovascular surgery.

At the 65th Congress of the European Society for Cardiovascular and Endovascular Surgery (ESCVS), held on 21-24 April at the hotel Crowne Plaza, around 150 reputable foreign lecturers and over 400 delegates from the country and abroad discussed about the current situation and novelties in the field.

Ceremonial opening which took place in the National Theatre on Friday, was participated by the Health Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Ass. Dr Zlatibor Lončar. In the crowded room of the National Theatre, the participants of the congress and numerous reputable experts from Serbian medical circles were addressed by the president of the organisational board of the congress, Professor Dr Lazar Davidović, president of the European Society, Oztekin Oto, Associate Dean of the School of Medicine of the University of Belgrade Professor Dr Petar Bulat and other eminent members of the European Society, and the participants then enjoyed the performance of the ballet Who's Singing Over There from the repertoire of the National Theatre.
