Minister of Health in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, prof. Dr. Danica Grujičić visited the Osečina Health Center, in the Koubar district. The municipality of Osečina has about 10,000 inhabitants on 300 square kilometers, and the Health Center, which has 13 doctors and 28 nurses and technicians, covers as many as 20 inhabited places.

"This Health Center is an example for family doctors for the whole of Serbia. What is their prime example is that the doctors who are working well and in whom the citizens have great confidence, which can be seen from the level of vaccinated patients and the problems they solve, because they are excellently organized.”
Osečina has only one pediatrician who works with all ages of children, and we have to find a way for young doctors to relocate here. The local self-government is ready to provide them with accommodation, and we will try to use the new capitation formula to increase salaries, especially for doctors in these rural areas.
What does not make me happy is that the Ministry of Health, as the founder, since 2019, had no understanding for them nor did they get anything for them, which must not happen anymore. Because general practitioners, of whom there are 7 here, can solve 85% of patients' problems." pointed out prof. Grujičić.
In a conversation with the director of the Health Center of Osecina prim. Dr. Dušan Milovanović and other colleagues, as pressing needs for the health care of Osečina, a sterilization apparatus, equipment for laboratories and an all-terrain vehicle were defined, the Ministry of Health will work on their immediate procurement in the upcoming period.
